Two
categories.

We review in the two categories the studio actually lives in: what you wear to train, and what you train with. Everything is used across real sessions and logged in Splitz before it gets written up.

APPAREL · EQUIPMENT SESSIONS LOGGED IN SPLITZ PAID & GIFTED LABELLED

Athleisure & fitness wear

Training clothes get reviewed the way they get used — under intervals, on the floor, through a wash cycle. Not styled on a hanger. A piece has to survive a conditioning block and a squat session in the same week before it earns a verdict.

What we test for

  • Fit under load. Does the waistband hold through a deadlift set, does the hem ride on burpees.
  • Sweat behaviour. How the fabric reads when wet, and whether it stays opaque.
  • Durability. Seam and print condition at twenty washes.
  • Range. Whether a piece works for both lifting and conditioning, or picks one.

Workout gear & equipment

Hardware gets judged against the sessions it's bought for. A kettlebell review that doesn't say how the handle feels on a two-hand swing at round eight isn't a review. We cover home and garage setups first, because that's where most of the decisions get made.

What we test for

  • Build. Weld quality, knurl, coating, tolerance against the stamped weight.
  • Session fit. Which training styles the piece actually supports — HIIT, strength, hybrid.
  • Footprint. What it costs you in floor space, and whether it stores.
  • Cost per use. Logged sessions divided into purchase price, published honestly.

Step 01

Programmed in

The piece goes into a real training block in Splitz — not a one-off test session. Minimum four weeks for apparel, eight for equipment.

Step 02

Logged

Sessions, loads, and rounds are tracked in the app. The numbers that end up in a review are the ones the log holds.

Step 03

Written with the receipts

Price paid, whether it was gifted, how many sessions, and what we'd buy instead. Verdicts can be "don't".

Links go live as programs approve

Gear links on this site will be affiliate links where a program exists. They do not change what gets recommended, and they cost you nothing. Reviews are written before any link is placed, and a product we wouldn't buy doesn't get one.
